For a factory manager, “clean” doesn’t mean “shiny.” It means “stripped.” When our client in Almaty, Kazakhstan (Project Ref: KZ-Clean-05) needed a solution to clean heavy grease and dried concrete off his construction machinery, he initially looked at local hardware stores. He found plenty of 220V, 1500W pressure washers.

The Power Grid Decision: 220V vs. 380V
The most critical number in the spec sheet isn’t the pressure; it’s the voltage.
- 220V (Single Phase): Limited to roughly 2.2KW – 3KW max. If you try to push more power, you trip the breaker. This limits pressure to roughly 150 bar.
- 380V (Three Phase): This allows us to run a huge 5KW Induction Motor.
Why 3-Phase? Stability. A 3-phase motor provides constant torque without the voltage drops that kill single-phase motors under heavy load. For a machine that runs 6 hours a day stripping paint, 380V is non-negotiable.
The Pressure Threshold: 270 Bar (3900 PSI)
There is a “magic number” in industrial cleaning: 200 Bar.
- Below 200 Bar: You are washing off dust and fresh mud.
- Above 200 Bar: You are stripping dried grease, old paint, and concrete splatter.
Our unit is rated at 270 Bar. This isn’t just “washing”; it’s “hydraulic scraping.” It uses a Triplex Plunger Pump with a brass head and ceramic plungers, designed to withstand this immense pressure for thousands of hours. A standard consumer aluminum pump would crack at this pressure within minutes.
The Freight Reality
Look at the logistics of this order (Invoice Ref: KZ-Clean-05).
- Product Cost: ~$400 per unit.
- Freight Cost: ~$360 (Factory to Almaty).
The freight is nearly equal to the product cost. Why? Because this machine is heavy. A 5KW induction motor is a block of copper and iron. It weighs 80kg+, not the 10kg of a plastic Kärcher. We consolidated 4 units into one shipment to optimize the freight-per-unit cost.
Conclusion
If you are washing your car, buy the 220V unit. But if you are maintaining a fleet of excavators or cleaning a factory floor, you need Voltage (380V) and Volume (Flow Rate). Don’t bring a plastic toy to an industrial fight.
