The Challenge

Establishing a mining camp in the high Andes is a logistical nightmare. The access road is a narrow dirt track, making the transport of standard 40ft shipping container houses impossible or prohibitively expensive.

Furthermore, the high altitude means welding is difficult and oxygen is scarce. The client needed a solution that could be assembled by a small team without heavy cranes or specialized equipment.

The Solution

We supplied Flat-Pack Modular Container Houses. Imagine "IKEA" but for buildings.

• Space Saving: The roof and floor are pre-fabricated, with walls sandwiched in between. We stacked 4 units into the space of a single 20ft container, cutting freight cost by 75%.
• Bolt-On Assembly: No welding required. 3 workers can assemble one unit in 4 hours using only hand tools.
• Insulation Upgrade: Panels were upgraded to 75mm PU foam to withstand the freezing night temperatures (-10°C) of the mountains.

The Result

The entire camp was fully operational in just 25 days. The flat-pack design allowed 14 trucks to deliver what would have normally required 50+ trucks, saving the client over $100,000 in inland transport fees.
