China EV Parts · Family 05 · Electric Compressors, Water Pumps & PTC Heaters
At −25°C, heat is not a comfort feature — it decides whether the car works at all. This is the system winter punishes hardest on a Chinese EV: the heat pump hands over to the PTC, the compressor runs flat-out, the coolant pumps never stop. Here are 16 real electric-compressor, water-pump and PTC-heater numbers, the number segments behind them, and the high-voltage truth about replacing them. Written for owners in cold country — and the fleets that run these cars for a living.
Compressors, pumps and heaters contain no lithium cells — no dangerous-goods paperwork, ever. Most of this family ships by ordinary courier.
Three Minutes Of Thermal School
Know these three things and every quote on this page makes sense.
Forget the belt-driven pump on a petrol car. An EV compressor is a sealed unit fed 300–800 volts DC straight from the traction battery, with its own electric motor and inverter drive board inside one housing. In a heat-pump car it is not just air conditioning — it is the heating engine too. So when the drive board dies, no amount of refrigerant brings it back; the whole unit is replaced, and only after the high voltage is disconnected.
A heat pump is the air conditioner running in reverse: one kilowatt of electricity moves two to three kilowatts of heat into the cabin. Brilliant — until deep cold, where its output collapses and the PTC heater takes over: an honest resistance element, one kilowatt in, one kilowatt out, straight off the battery. Most Chinese EVs carry both and switch silently. Owners never see the handover — they only see the range gauge fall.
Electronic coolant pumps circulate the battery, motor and cabin loops — including while the car is parked, keeping the battery in its temperature window. In a cold-country winter that is a round-the-clock duty cycle. A failed pump is a cheap part with expensive silence: an electronics loop that overheats in summer, a battery that cannot be warmed in winter, a car that limits power until it is fixed.
The compressor moves heat from outside air into the cabin at two to three times the electrical cost. Consumption rises, but gently.
There is less and less heat in the outside air to harvest. The heat pump fades and the PTC heater quietly takes over the load.
Cabin plus battery heating can draw several kilowatts continuously. The range you lose is simply the heat you buy — and the hardware earns its keep.
Nobody else writes about Chinese EV thermal parts from the cold side. We do, because that is where many of our buyers live — Russia, Kazakhstan, Central Asia, Northern and Eastern Europe, Canada — and where this family fails first.
The Number Index
Every number has a verified source. None are invented.

About the orange price tags: they are the retail price the same part number is listed at by shops in Russia and the CIS (captured from published listings in July 2026, source link kept for every one) — not our quote. They are here so the gap you are trying to close is visible. Local prices move with stock and exchange rates; our own figure depends on quantity, packing and destination, and always comes with photos of the actual part.

No match in these 16 — that does not mean no.
This index is the shop window, not the warehouse. Photograph the old unit's nameplate — model and voltage are printed on it — add the VIN, and we identify it within 24 hours.
Numbers are copied verbatim from supplier platforms, wholesale listings and dismantler pages. Rows flagged "confirm first" or "model unstated" are flagged because the source itself was ambiguous — we resolve each against your VIN and the unit's nameplate before any money moves. You will notice only one PTC row: passenger-car PTC heater numbers are almost never published for Chinese EVs — those are sourced by nameplate photo and VIN, the same route the trade itself uses.
For context: on Russian-language parts platforms, the median asking price for an EV air-conditioning compressor is around 68,500 ₽ — with import mark-ups already inside. We quote the same class of unit China-direct, within 24 hours, with the nameplate photographed before dispatch. Compare landed cost with the part in front of you, then decide.
Crack the Code
Thermal is the easiest EV family to source by number. Here is why.
Every BYD electric compressor number in our index ends in -8103020: the prefix names the platform — HA2HE for the Qin PLUS, E6H for the Yuan and Qin EV, T5A and T10ZT for the electric trucks — and the trailing letter marks the variant. Wholesale platforms list these numbers openly in their titles, which makes BYD compressors one of the most sourceable EV parts in China. Learn the segment once and you can read a listing at a glance.
BYD cooling-pump numbers end in -1315010 — T7A for the electric trucks and vans, K9A for the K9 and B8 buses — and a parallel factory series like J7-8101040 sits alongside it. Because these platforms run by the thousand in Chinese cities, pump supply is deep and immediate. If your pump number ends in those seven digits, the odds are excellent we can have it moving within days, not order-cycles.
Peel the car badge off and a supplier system appears. Aotecar builds roughly a third of China's electric compressors — the E-series numbers in our index are theirs. Huayu Sanden is the SAIC-system thermal supplier; its ten-digit 5802088492 drives electric vans. Shenhai Electric's HS- pumps circulate BYD bus loops. This matters to you for one reason: the nameplate on your old unit often names the real maker — photograph it, and the search narrows from a brand to a factory.
Integrated heat-pump modules, valve blocks and passenger-car PTC heaters almost never carry a published number — makers treat them as internal assemblies, and our own index reflects that honestly: one PTC row, and it is a commercial-vehicle series. The working route is the one the trade itself uses: photograph the old unit's nameplate — model, voltage and maker are printed on it — add the VIN, and we match it at the source. Not a fallback; the standard method.
Practical use: a decoded segment gets you to the right family fast — but voltage class still decides the fit. A 320 V unit and an 800 V unit can look identical in a photo. The nameplate never lies; send it with the VIN and the guesswork ends.
The Cold-Country File
Condensed from public owner reports in Russian-language communities.
Hongqi E-HS9
Owners report winter consumption of 30–50 kWh per 100 km and range falling to a third or half of summer — on a heavy SUV with an 84–120 kWh pack, heating that cabin and that battery is a serious thermal job. And at −10°C, fast charging starts with about five minutes of battery pre-heating at barely 20 kW before real power flows. Every kilowatt of that story passes through this page's parts.
BYD Song Plus
The active grille shutters that manage radiator airflow are reported jamming below about −10°C — a moving part meeting road slush and hard frost. Winter range on the EV version settles around 200–250 km at −15 to −20°C. A stuck shutter puts extra strain on exactly the loop it was built to help, which is how a small plastic failure becomes a thermal-system ticket.
AITO M7
In hard frost the M7 loses about one percent of charge a day just keeping its own battery warm — the thermal system working around the clock with nobody in the car. Winter city consumption runs near 40 kWh per 100 km, and without pre-heating the first five minutes of driving are power-limited. Parked outdoors all winter, this hardware never actually rests.
None of this is a defect list — it is physics plus duty cycle. In Russia, Kazakhstan and Central Asia this family works harder than its designers' home market ever asked: the PTC carrying whole months alone, pumps circulating day and night, the compressor doing double duty as a heat engine. A part that is "lifetime" in Guangzhou is a consumable in Karaganda. That is exactly why this page exists — and why we keep these numbers warm.
High Voltage, Handled Right
The part is our job. The high voltage is your workshop's. Both jobs written down.
Every unit is photographed before dispatch — nameplate, voltage class, connector — so your workshop sees exactly what is coming before it arrives. Evidence, not adjectives.
An EV compressor is fed directly from the traction battery. Before it is touched, a qualified EV workshop pulls the service disconnect, waits out the capacitor discharge and verifies zero volts at the connector. This is routine for a trained technician and genuinely dangerous for anyone else — a driveway swap on this part is not a saving, it is a gamble with 300 to 800 volts.
Electric compressors run dielectric POE oil, because the refrigerant circuit washes over live windings. Ordinary PAG oil from a petrol-car A/C machine degrades that insulation — a small residue is enough to trigger isolation faults and kill a brand-new unit. The workshop must use POE-clean equipment; we state the oil spec alongside the part so there is no ambiguity at the bench.
Evacuation, refrigerant type and fill weight follow the sticker under the bonnet, gram for gram. And if the old compressor seized, the loop must be flushed and the drier and expansion valve replaced — otherwise debris from the dead unit quietly destroys the new one. A good workshop knows all this. Our job is simpler and non-negotiable: the box that arrives holds the right unit, in the right voltage class.
The division of labour, in writing: we supply the correct part — number resolved against your VIN, nameplate and voltage class photographed before dispatch, oil spec stated. Your workshop handles the high-voltage disconnection, evacuation and charging. That split goes on the quote, so nobody discovers a grey zone after the box is open.
Fleets & Commercial
Six of our 241 numbers are commercial-vehicle parts. That is not an accident.
Pumps & compressors on the shelf
BYD's K9 and B8 platforms run by the thousand in Chinese cities, so their water pumps and bus-class compressors — K9A-1315010, the Shenhai HS- units, Aotecar's E66A380A — are stocked trade goods, not special orders. If your depot runs these buses, the parts pipeline already exists; it just has not been pointed at you yet.
Working vehicles, working numbers
The T5A, T7A and T10 compressor and pump numbers in our index come from live supplier listings, and Huayu Sanden's 8 kW units drive electric vans. A delivery truck with a dead cabin heater is a truck off the road at −20°C — for working vehicles, thermal parts are uptime parts, and we treat the lead time accordingly.
One list · one crate · one entry
Chinese EV taxis and corporate cars across Kazakhstan, Central Asia, Eastern Europe and every cold-winter market worldwide clock winter mileage that private owners never see — which means compressors, pumps and heaters on a schedule, not by surprise. Send the fleet list through the form: one consolidated quote, one crate, one customs entry, and standing terms for a standing list.
Fleet buyers: name the vehicles and the failure, not the numbers — identification is our job. A depot list of "6 buses, coolant pumps, one compressor" is a complete inquiry.
Before You Ask
Usually not, and here is the honest logic. If refrigerant is low, it leaked — gas does not wear out — so a top-up without fixing the leak buys weeks at best. And on an EV the compressor is an electrical machine: when its inverter board or motor windings fail, which is the common failure mode, no amount of refrigerant changes anything. Worse, if the compressor seized, running the system spreads metal debris through the loop. Diagnose first: error codes, pressures, whether the compressor even spins up. If the verdict is the compressor, that is what this page is for — and the loop gets flushed with a new drier when it is fitted.
Very likely both — most Chinese EVs pair a heat pump with a PTC backup and switch between them silently, so the owner never sees which one is working. Which units your exact car carries depends on model, year and trim: the same nameplate can hide different thermal architectures between a 2021 and a 2023 build. Two reliable routes: check your own specification sheet, or simply send us the VIN — we check the configuration at the source before quoting. Never buy a heater or compressor off a forum guess about "what this model has"; the VIN answers it in one step.
Case by case, and we will tell you which case is yours. Water pumps and PTC heaters are simple, robust units where a tested take-off often makes sense. Compressors deserve more caution: a used unit carries its previous oil history and wear invisibly, so for compressors we usually quote new first — China-direct pricing keeps new units competitive — and offer take-offs where verified stock exists. Any take-off we do supply ships documented as: used take-off part, tested, working — with a 3-month warranty. That sentence goes on the quote and the contract, not into a chat bubble. We quote both routes side by side; you choose with real numbers in hand.
The installing workshop — and that is not us dodging, it is how the industry works everywhere. Disconnecting the traction battery, verifying zero volts, evacuating and recharging the circuit with the correct POE oil: those steps need trained hands and proper equipment on site, wherever the car is. Our responsibility sits before that and is written on the quote: the correct unit, matched to your VIN, in the right voltage class, nameplate and connector photographed before dispatch, oil and refrigerant spec stated. If your workshop has questions about the unit mid-job, they can ask us directly — a mechanic-to-supplier conversation solves in minutes what guesswork drags out for days.
Almost certainly. Thermal is one of the best-supplied families in the Chinese EV aftermarket — the same compressors, pumps and heaters go into thousands of vehicles, and the supplier system behind them (Aotecar, Huayu Sanden, Shenhai and their peers) sells openly. If you have any number, send it: even a partial segment like -8103020 or -1315010 tells us which shelf to open. If you have no number — the normal case for heat-pump modules and passenger-car PTC heaters — photograph the old unit's nameplate and add the VIN. Identification within 24 hours, with new and take-off routes quoted where both exist.
Good news first: nothing in this family contains lithium cells, so there is never dangerous-goods paperwork to slow the box down. Water pumps and PTC heaters are compact — express courier, 3–7 days door to door. Compressors are mid-size and dense; they fly courier too, billed close to their real weight, no volumetric surprises. Bus and truck units, or a fleet batch, consolidate into one crate by ground — typically 2–4 weeks at a fraction of air cost. Identification takes up to 24 hours before dispatch. Car stuck in a cold snap with no heat? Say so — the routing changes to match the urgency.
