CNC & Metalworking · From China
A $35k and a $70k machining centre can look identical on the floor. The gap is bolted inside — the control, the spindle, the guideways, the screws. We open the machine up, run it under load, and tell you exactly what you're buying before you pay.

Why Two Quotes Differ By 2×
Ask three Chinese factories for a "3-axis VMC, 1000×500 table" and you'll get quotes from $18,000 to $42,000. The base casting, the sheet-metal enclosure, the paint — nearly the same cost on all three. The entire price gap lives in the components you can't see in a photo or a 30-second video.
A cost-down build hits the target price by quietly swapping the control, the spindle, the linear guides and the ballscrews for cheaper grades. The machine still moves, still cuts a soft test piece on camera — and loses accuracy, or a bearing, six months in. Below is exactly what we check, part by part.
The Teardown
For every one of these we confirm the actual brand and grade fitted — not what the brochure claims. This is the difference between a machine that holds tolerance for a decade and one that drifts in a year.
Bites you when: an alarm stops the line and there's no one to call.
Bites you when: your surface finish slips and parts start failing QC.
Bites you when: positioning accuracy degrades and you can't source a replacement rail.
Bites you when: a contour part won't hold tolerance no matter how you program it.
Bites you when: you try to take a real cut and the finish turns to ripples.
Bites you when: cycle times balloon and rapid moves overshoot.

How We Verify
Anyone can film a machine spinning. We put it through a real acceptance test at the factory before it ships.
A part in your actual material, then measured against the print — not a soft aluminium demo block.
Positioning and repeatability checked with an indicator or laser, the figures recorded and sent to you.
Run warm, then re-measured — because a spindle that's accurate cold and not hot is no use to you.
Control, spindle, guides and screws confirmed against the spec — photographed, serial numbers logged.
What Are You Building
3-, 4- and 5-axis milling for moulds, dies and complex parts. The component grades above matter most here.
Slant-bed and flat-bed lathes, with live tooling and bar feeders for shaft and round work in volume.
Sheet-metal cutting — here the laser source brand (IPG, Raycus, Max) and wattage are the decision.
CNC bending and shearing — back-gauge accuracy and tonnage matched to your plate thickness.
For wood, composites and aluminium — large-format beds for furniture, signage and panel work.
Buying a workshop's worth at once? We sequence the order, match controls across machines and consolidate freight.
The True Cost
A multi-tonne machine carries costs a forklift doesn't: heavy crating, specialised freight, rigging into your building, commissioning, and the tooling and fixturing to actually make parts. We price the whole thing up front so the landed number is the real number.
Skip the tooling budget and a $30k machine sits idle waiting for $8k of cutters, vises and probes. We flag it on day one.

Indicative FOB — lathes, lasers and press brakes priced to spec. We quote the full landed cost to your destination.
Get my landed quoteCertification & Customs
A machine tool needs the conformity mark your country requires — CE with a proper machinery-directive file for Europe, EAC (TR EAEU) for the EAEU/CIS region, or the local equivalent elsewhere. A sticker on the cabinet isn't a certificate — we confirm the file is real and covers your exact model.
We then prepare the export and customs documentation so a multi-tonne machine clears at your destination without sitting on demurrage.
Straight Answers
A machine built with tier-1 components — branded control, ground ballscrews, Hiwin/THK guides, a rigid casting — holds production tolerances reliably, and many do for years. The risk isn't "China"; it's a cost-down build with hidden cheap parts. That's exactly what we verify before you pay.
If your operators already run Fanuc/Siemens/Mitsubishi, staying on it avoids retraining and gives worldwide support. A good Taiwanese control (Syntec) is a fair budget choice. What to avoid is an unbranded or grey-market control with no parts channel and alarms nobody can decode.
An entry 3-axis VMC is roughly $18,000–26,000 FOB China; a mid machine on tier-1 components $30,000–45,000. Add crating and ocean freight ($2,500–5,500 per 40ft by route), plus tooling, rigging and commissioning. We quote the full landed cost to your destination so there are no surprises.
Yes — that's the core of what we do. Before the balance is released we run a real test cut in your material, measure accuracy and repeatability, thermal-soak the spindle, and audit the fitted components against the spec, with photos and figures sent to you.
Yes. We confirm the conformity file your market needs — CE for Europe, EAC (TR EAEU) for the EAEU/CIS region, or the local equivalent — covers your exact model, and prepare the export and customs paperwork so the machine clears at your destination without delay.
