Electric Motors & Drives · From China
Over a working life, a motor's purchase price is a rounding error — electricity is ~97% of what it costs you. The cheapest motor on the quote is almost always the most expensive to own. The efficiency class, not the sticker, is the real decision.

Why Cheap Motors Are Expensive
Put a mid-size motor on a continuous duty and the electricity it draws each year dwarfs what you paid for it — often many times over. Across a 15-to-20-year life, energy is roughly 97% of the total cost of ownership; the motor itself is around 3%.
Which is why shaving a few dollars off the purchase by dropping an efficiency class is the worst trade in the catalogue. The chart below is the whole argument.
Where The Money Actually Goes
Indicative split for an industrial motor on continuous duty (purchase vs lifetime energy + maintenance). The number you negotiate hardest is the smallest one.
A point or two of efficiency looks tiny on paper. On a motor that runs all year it's real money — and the premium for a better class pays itself back fast, then keeps paying for 15+ years.
| Efficiency class (IEC 60034-30) | Typical efficiency* | Relative annual energy | The premium pays back in |
|---|---|---|---|
| IE2 — High | ≈ 89% | baseline (highest bill) | — |
| IE3 — Premium | ≈ 90.5% | lower every hour it runs | months on continuous duty |
| IE4 — Super-Premium | ≈ 92% | lowest | where power is dear / it never stops |
*Indicative for a mid-size 4-pole motor; exact figures vary by rating. Many markets now mandate a minimum class (MEPS) — we confirm yours.

Get The Nameplate Right
Efficiency picks the class; these pick the exact motor. Get one wrong and it won't fit, won't start, or won't survive your environment.
Your grid — 380–415 V / 50 Hz, 460 V / 60 Hz, or other. A mismatch is a dead motor on day one.
IP55 for general industry; IP65/66 for washdown, dust or outdoor. Match it to where it lives.
Class F or H for heat; S1 continuous vs S3 intermittent. Sets how hard it can work without cooking.
B3 foot, B5/B14 flange, and the IEC frame size that bolts to your machine.
Ex (ATEX / IECEx) explosion-proof where gas or dust is present — not optional, it's safety.
Running on a VFD? Reinforced insulation for PWM voltage spikes, or it fails early.
Motors & The Drives That Run Them
On a pump or fan that doesn't always run flat-out, a variable-frequency drive can cut energy dramatically — slowing the motor to the actual demand instead of throttling at full speed. Pairing the right VFD with an inverter-duty motor is often a bigger win than the efficiency class alone.
We supply matched motor-plus-drive packages — tier-1 drives (ABB, Siemens, Danfoss) or solid value brands — soft starters, and gear units, sized and configured together so they arrive ready to commission.
What Are You Driving
The workhorse three-phase induction motor for pumps, fans, compressors and conveyors.
Reinforced for VFD operation — for variable-speed pumps, fans and process lines.
ATEX / IECEx rated for oil, gas, grain and chemical sites where ignition is a risk.
Helical, worm and planetary gear units — torque and speed matched to conveyors and mixers.
Brake motors for hoists and cranes; servo and stepper motors for positioning and automation.
High-voltage and large-frame motors for crushers, mills, big pumps and fans.
The True Cost
A purchase quote is the small number. We give you the two that matter together: the FOB price and the running cost at your tariff, so you compare motors on total cost of ownership rather than which sticker is lowest. On continuous duty, the efficient motor is usually cheaper within the first year.
Motors ship well in volume — we consolidate a mixed order (motors, gear units, drives) into one shipment.

Get my landed quoteCertification & Customs
Many markets set a minimum motor efficiency by regulation (MEPS) — the EU, for example, mandates IE3 or higher across most ratings. So the class isn't only about running cost; the wrong one may not be importable. We confirm the conformity mark your market needs — CE for Europe, EAC (TR EAEU) for the EAEU/CIS region — plus the IE class and Ex certification where it applies.
Then we prepare the export and customs paperwork so it clears at your destination without a hold.
Straight Answers
On continuous or near-continuous duty, almost always. Electricity is around 97% of a motor's lifetime cost, so a point or two of efficiency is real money every hour it runs. The premium for IE3 over IE2 typically pays back within months; IE4 makes sense where power is expensive or the motor never stops. We run the payback at your kW, hours and tariff.
Power (kW), poles or speed (RPM), your grid voltage and frequency, the protection (IP) and mounting needed, duty cycle, and whether it runs on a VFD or in a hazardous area. With those we pick the class, frame and exact nameplate — and the matching drive if needed.
Yes — Chinese factories build to whatever grid you specify: 380–415 V / 50 Hz, 460 V / 60 Hz, and others, single or three phase. The key is telling us the exact grid up front; a motor wound for the wrong voltage or frequency will fail immediately, so we confirm it before production.
Yes. We supply matched packages — inverter-duty motor plus VFD (tier-1 ABB/Siemens/Danfoss or solid value brands), soft starters, and helical/worm/planetary gear units — sized and configured together so they arrive ready to commission, and consolidated into one shipment.
Yes. We confirm the conformity mark your market needs — CE for Europe, EAC (TR EAEU) for the EAEU/CIS region, or the local equivalent — and that the IE efficiency class meets your country's MEPS rules, plus Ex certification for hazardous areas, then prepare the export and customs paperwork for your destination.
