Geosynthetics · Sourced From China
Geotextile, geomembrane, geogrid, GCL, pipe — a lining or earthworks package rarely comes from one factory, and every extra factory is another spec to police. We run the whole list: match each line to the right mill, verify the resin grade behind the price, and consolidate it into one shipment with one set of documents.

Why Quotes For The "Same" Spec Differ 30%
Ask five Chinese mills for "200 g/m² nonwoven geotextile" and the quotes can spread by more than a quarter. The sheet of paper is identical. The fibre isn't: top-grade virgin polyester, blended regenerated fibre, or bottom-tier reclaimed stock all press into a fabric that looks the same on delivery day — and behaves completely differently after a winter in the ground.
Geomembrane is starker still: a recycled-resin sheet runs roughly a third cheaper than a GRI-GM13 build of the same thickness. That gap is exactly what a low bid is made of. Our job as your sourcing team is to name the tier behind every price — before you compare numbers that were never comparable.
Match The Layer To The Job
Find the function on the left. The middle columns are the product family and the one spec that decides whether it works. The right column is the corner that low bids cut.
| If the ground needs to… | Product family | The spec that decides it | Where low bids cheat |
|---|---|---|---|
| Separate & filter soil layers | Nonwoven / woven geotextile | Real g/m² on the scale + tensile kN — not the label | Reclaimed fibre, short weight |
| Contain water, leachate, brine | HDPE / LLDPE geomembrane | Virgin resin (OIT test) + GM13 vs GB/T grade | Recycled resin, ~1/3 cheaper |
| Reinforce roads & walls | Uniaxial / biaxial geogrid | Long-term design strength, not short-term break | Quoting break strength as design |
| Self-seal ponds & landfills | GCL bentonite liner | Bentonite swell index + g/m² loading | Thin bentonite core |
| Drain & carry water | HDPE & corrugated pipe | Ring stiffness class (SN) + wall construction | Thin walls, regrind resin |
| Join the liner on site | Wedge & extrusion welders | Weld temperature control + spare parts kit | No spares = idle crew |
Every family above links to its own page — full specs, price logic and container maths per product.

This is HDPE geomembrane, ex-works China, at indicative 2024–25 levels. The three columns are the three tiers a mill can quietly quote you: full GRI-GM13 compliance, Chinese GB/T standard, or recycled resin. Nobody writes the third column on a spec sheet — it just arrives.
Resin prices move with oil, so treat these as the shape of the market, not today's quote. What doesn't move is the gap: recycled runs roughly a third below GM13. If a bid sits in that gap, you're being quoted the third column.
How we catch recycled resin — the OIT test| Thickness | GRI GM13 | GB/T grade | Recycled |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.0 mm | $1.47/m² | $1.30/m² | $0.91/m² |
| 1.5 mm | $2.20/m² | $1.95/m² | $1.37/m² |
| 2.0 mm | $2.94/m² | $2.60/m² | $1.82/m² |
| 2.5 mm | $3.67/m² | $3.25/m² | $2.28/m² |
| 3.0 mm | $4.40/m² | $3.90/m² | $2.74/m² |
Indicative ex-works levels, 2024–25 · resin-linked, confirm current on inquiry · textured surface adds per side · geotextile has the same tier game in fibre grades (virgin vs regenerated), worth ~25% on a tonne.
Landed Cost Is A Loading Problem
Geosynthetics are cheap per square metre and expensive per cubic metre — which makes the loading plan part of the price. A 40'HQ takes about 28,700 m² of 1.0 mm membrane (41 rolls at 7 m width) but around 32,000 m² of 270 g calendered PP fabric. Mixing products into one container — liner plus protection fabric plus welder — is usually the cheapest way to start a lining job.
And it's not only sea freight. For inland destinations we run road and rail: a real project delivery we costed from Shandong ran 12 flatbed trucks to the border, 12 cross-border trucks onward — the kind of overland maths that never appears on an FOB quote. Gulf and African ports run the classic sea route instead; we quote both ways to your site.

Price my mixed containerBefore It Ships
Three checks catch nearly every geosynthetics scam. The scale: cut samples and weigh actual g/m² — short-weight fabric is the oldest trick in the trade. The tensile rig: pull the sample to its rated kN, because regenerated fibre snaps early. The OIT oven: an oxidative induction test on membrane exposes recycled resin that looks factory-fresh. We commission the tests, sit the inspection, and send you the lab sheets with photos before the balance payment — not after the ship sails.
Tender packages needing GRI-GM13, ASTM or EN paperwork get the standards question answered up front: which certificate the mill actually holds, and which line item needs a third-party test to pass your engineer's review.
Where This Material Goes
The same six families keep turning up wherever earth meets water: hydropower and irrigation in Central Asia, municipal landfills in Africa, aquaculture and salt ponds in Southeast Asia, road programmes in the Gulf. Different climates, same physics — and the same three QC checks before anything ships.
HPP · canals · reservoirs
Membrane plus protection geotextile plus GCL — the classic lining sandwich for hydropower and irrigation schemes, from spec review to the welding crew's spare parts.
Landfills · ponds · mining
GM13-grade liner, GCL and drainage layers where a leak is a lawsuit — the tier column above matters most exactly here, and so does the OIT test.
Highways · rail · foundations
Separation fabric under the aggregate, geogrid in the base course, drainage pipe alongside — bought by the kilometre, where short-weight fabric hides best.
Straight Answers
Yes — that's the point of this page. Geotextile, geomembrane, geogrid, GCL, drainage pipe and the welding equipment are sourced from the mills that are actually best at each, then consolidated into one shipment with one set of export documents. You manage one supplier instead of five.
Because the spec sheet doesn't name the resin tier. Geomembrane comes in GM13, GB/T and recycled builds — recycled runs about a third cheaper. Geotextile has the same game in fibre grades, worth around 25% on a tonne. A low bid usually means a lower tier, not a better deal. We name the tier behind every price we pass to you.
Three tests catch nearly everything: weighing cut samples for real g/m², tensile-pulling to the rated strength, and an OIT (oxidative induction) test on membrane to expose recycled resin. We commission the tests and send lab sheets with photos before the balance payment.
Yes. We check up front which certificates the mill actually holds against what your tender requires, flag the gaps, and arrange third-party testing where your engineer needs an independent sheet. Export paperwork — CE where applicable, EAC (TR EAEU) for the EAEU/CIS region — is prepared to match the destination.
Practically, one container — that's when the freight maths works in your favour. A 40'HQ holds roughly 28,700 m² of 1.0 mm membrane or 32,000 m² of 270 g fabric, and mixed loads (liner + fabric + welder) are how most lining jobs start. For smaller trial orders, ask — consolidation with other cargo is sometimes possible.
