HVAC & Refrigeration · From China
A chiller's headline capacity is measured at a mild test condition. At 45–50 °C ambient it can lose 20–30% — size on the nameplate and you're short on the hottest day you actually built it for. We spec the plant for your real climate, building zone by zone.

Why The Nameplate Lies
An air-cooled chiller's rated kW and its COP are measured at a standard ambient — typically 35 °C. That's the number on the quote. But cooling capacity falls and power draw climbs as the air outside gets hotter. In a 48 °C summer the same machine can deliver 20–30% less cooling while drawing more power — exactly when you need it most.
So the first question isn't "how many kW" — it's "kW at what design ambient?" We size the plant against your real peak conditions, then walk the building from the roof down so nothing is missed.
Walk The Building, Top To Bottom
HVAC isn't one purchase — it's a stack of systems that have to match each other. Here's the building from the roof down, and the one spec that matters at each level.
Spec the decision: rated capacity at YOUR design ambient, not the catalogue 35 °C. Air-cooled is simpler; water-cooled with a tower is more efficient at scale. Tier-1 compressors (Bitzer, Danfoss, Copeland) are what hold reliability.
Spec the decision: airflow and coil rows matched to the load, EC fans for efficiency, and VRF where you need independent zone control without a chiller plant.
Spec the decision: zoning and controls — a good BMS recovers its cost in running savings. Inverter splits and cassettes for smaller zones, all on one refrigerant strategy.
Spec the decision: panel insulation thickness, refrigerant and defrost strategy for the room temperature you hold. A tier-1 refrigeration compressor is the part that must not be cheapened.
Two Numbers, Two Risks
Get these two wrong and the plant is either undersized on the hottest day or fitted with a refrigerant your market is phasing out.
| Design ambient | Air-cooled chiller capacity |
|---|---|
| 35 °C (nameplate) | 100% — the quoted number |
| 42 °C | ≈ 88–92% |
| 48 °C | ≈ 75–82% |
| 52 °C | ≈ 68–75% + higher power |
Indicative derating — exact figures depend on the machine. We size against your peak, not the test bench.
| Refrigerant | Where it fits |
|---|---|
| R32 | Low-GWP, high efficiency — the current default for splits & VRF |
| R410A | Still common, being phased down — check your market's rules |
| R134a | Larger chillers & medium-temp refrigeration |
| R290 / R744 | Lowest GWP — propane / CO₂, for green mandates |
We match the refrigerant to your regulations (F-gas, Kigali) and to local service availability.

The Cost That Outlasts The Invoice
HVAC runs for years, and the electricity bill dwarfs the purchase price over its life. A cheaper chiller with a poor COP / IPLV can cost more in its first two summers than the premium for an efficient one. So we compare on part-load efficiency (IPLV) and EER, not just the sticker — especially where power is expensive or the plant runs most of the year.
Established export brands (Midea, Gree, Haier and the international names) publish real performance data we can verify; an unbranded unit usually can't show you an honest part-load curve.
The True Cost
HVAC lands as a coordinated set — outdoor plant, air-side, controls, refrigerant and the pipework that ties them together. We quote it as one matched package so the AHU coil suits the chiller and the controls speak to both, and consolidate the freight rather than shipping a dozen separate boxes.
Refrigerant charging and commissioning are flagged up front, not discovered on site.

Indicative — chiller $/kW falls with size and rises with design ambient. We quote landed to your destination.

HVAC plant needs the conformity mark your market requires — CE for Europe, EAC (TR EAEU) for the EAEU/CIS region — and the unit must ship with a refrigerant your country still permits under its F-gas / Kigali phase-down. We confirm both before the deposit, plus the pressure-equipment paperwork where it applies.
Then we prepare the export and customs documentation so the plant clears at your destination without a hold.
Straight Answers
Because its rated capacity is measured at about 35 °C ambient. As outdoor air gets hotter, an air-cooled chiller loses cooling and draws more power — roughly 20–30% less capacity at 48 °C. If it was sized on the nameplate rather than your real peak, it falls short on the hottest days. We size against your design ambient.
It depends on your market's rules and the equipment. R32 is the efficient low-GWP default for splits and VRF; R410A is still common but being phased down; R134a suits larger chillers; R290 (propane) or CO₂ meet the strictest green mandates. We match it to your F-gas / Kigali obligations and to local service availability.
Yes. We source the whole stack as one matched package — chillers or condensing units, AHUs and fan coils, VRF, controls/BMS, and cold-room or refrigeration gear — so the coil suits the chiller and the controls speak to both, then consolidate the freight into one coordinated shipment.
On running cost, not sticker price. Compare COP and part-load efficiency (IPLV / EER): a cheaper unit with a poor IPLV can cost more in its first two summers than the premium for an efficient one, especially where power is expensive or it runs most of the year. We pull the real performance data and run the comparison.
Yes. We confirm the conformity mark your market needs — CE for Europe, EAC (TR EAEU) for the EAEU/CIS region, or the local equivalent — and that the refrigerant is one your country still permits, then prepare the export and customs paperwork so the plant clears at your destination without delay.
