Textile offcuts and used fabric are opened back into loose fibre, laid into a web and needle-punched — thousands of barbed needles pull the fibres through each other until the sheet holds together. No weaving, no resin in the cheap grades.
That is why it is grey with flecks of colour in it, why it is cheap, and why no two rolls are identical. It is also why the "technical data sheets" you find for this product online are mostly copied from real geotextile: this fabric has no honest standard specification. What it has is a weight, a thickness, and a width — and those we can actually check for you.

Straight answer: we buy this from the same recycled-fibre mills as the rest of this page. Finished blankets (quilting, binding, bale packing) are a separate step — tell us whether you want fabric on the roll or finished pieces and we quote the two differently.

Two rolls of "10 mm" from different mills can feel completely different, so we send you a cut sample before the order, not after. If you need a moisture barrier, we laminate a clear polyethylene film to one face — that version is deliberately different on the two sides, and we quote the film as a separate line so you can see what it costs.

This is the failure in this product, in every application. The roll looks right, feels right, and is fifteen percent light. You find out when you have used half of it. Nobody can see it — so we weigh it.

A 40'HQ holds about 67.5 m³ and is allowed roughly 26 tonnes. Packed with this felt it is full at around 9 tonnes. You are paying for air, which means the landed price per square metre is decided by the roll dimensions and the weight you chose — not by the tonne price.
So the heavier the grade, the fewer square metres in the box, and the more sea freight each square metre carries. We run the loading plan before quoting, so the landed number is arithmetic rather than a guess.
